John Rife, founder of the Winter Park Harvest Festival, is guest co-host of today’s interview with Woody Tasch, Founder and Chairman of Slow Money, an organization that is a compliment to the Slow Food movement. He is the author of Inquiries into the Nature of Slow Money: Investing as if Food, Farms, and Fertility Mattered and “one of 25 visionaries who are changing the world” according to Utne Magazine, October 2010.

This discussion gives an update on what has developed for Slow Money both on a national level and regionally, including mentions of the No Small Potatoes Fund in Maine and Slow Money Austin and some recent figures of Slow Money investment flow that has been created in the past year. You can listen to the first interview in May 2010 with Woody here.

Two local enterprises placed in the Slow Money competition last year, Homegrown Co-op and Julie’s cafe, Dandelion Communitea Cafe. Speaking of Slow Money, if you appreciated the content of this interview, consider making a donation to Front Porch Radio to support our all volunteer programming!

Did we mention there is a national gathering in San Francisco this October with speakers like David Suzuki, Vandana Shiva and Wes Jackson? If you wanna sponsor Julie (and Maya!) to attend you can make a donation (just specify what the money is for) or offer up your frequent flyer miles!
