FPR:: Keep Dandelion Cooking, You Flexitarian!
In the first half of the show, our host Julie Norris talks about the economic pinch that Dandelion Communitea Cafe is in, and discusses her Community Supported Enterprise (CSE) plan to keep it alive, which includes a “Keep Dandelion Cooking” campaign to have 1,111 people donate $11.11.
In the second half of the show, she talks you through a flexitarian journey and discusses the recent film, Food, Inc.

The remarkable story has finally been told. Local Author, Greg Dawson, and his mother, Zhanna Arshanskaya Dawson have put her musical odyssey into words. At age 14, piano prodigy, Zhanna, hid her Jewish identity but could not hide her talent. The Nazis killed her parents but she survived by HIDING IN THE SPOTLIGHT. Greg & his wife Candy discuss the book and the story with an intimate glance at their own personal process.

Jennie Joseph is the Executive Director of The Birth Place a free-standing birthing facility in Winter Garden where she sees women from all walks of life that are expecting healthy babies and who choose a natural birth. The Birth Place Birthing Center’s mission is to provide a service to the local Orlando area community by offering quality maternity care for all women. The JJ Way™ MCH healthcare delivery model was developed by Jennie and has shown such promising outcomes for indigent women that Winter Park Health Foundation has funded an ongoing research study.
In addition to her clinic, Ms. Joseph launched the Nubian Health Network in 2004 in order to address and redress the disparities in health care being experienced by women of African descent. Nubian Health Network is an online resource and forum accessed by women worldwide.
